Message from the Dean – School of Computing
Welcome to the School of Computing at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology! Established in January 2017 after separating from the former Faculty of Science, our School has rapidly grown to become one of the most promising academic units within the University.
We provide comprehensive education in Computer Science and Information Technology, covering everything from theoretical and algorithmic foundations to cutting-edge developments in ICT for development, green technologies, cybersecurity, dynamic databases, and other emerging areas. Our dedicated and motivated staff are committed to producing graduates who are not only job-ready but also capable of creating innovative solutions to complex computing challenges.
Our curricula are carefully designed to meet industry demands and align with Kenya’s Vision 2030 blueprint, positioning IT as a cornerstone of economic and social growth. While some disciplines may focus on immediate job-specific skills, our programmes provide a strong foundation that empowers graduates to adapt to new technologies, embrace innovative ideas, and even become entrepreneurs.
We offer programmes ranging from Certificate to PhD, all guided by our departmental core values of excellence, innovation, and integrity.
We warmly welcome you to explore the exciting opportunities at the School of Computing!
